Help:Contents

Overview

Adding a listing is easy.

First, you need to register for an account. Only registered users may create or edit content on Centiare. Note that you will have to provide and verify an e-mail account from a "non-disposable" server (i.e., not Yahoo, Gmail, or Hotmail types of addresses).

Second, make sure you have thoroughly searched Centiare to confirm that an article about your topic isn't already established.

Then, if you're certain your topic has not yet been addressed, you must next decide if your listing really belongs in the Directory space, or whether it is more suitable for the Main space pages (or even User namespace).

Directory topics should include anything that has standing in a court of law:

  • Commercial businesses
  • Non-profit organizations and foundations
  • Formally organized or registered private clubs
  • Governmental bodies
  • Living persons (including yourself)
  • Deceased persons who still have an active legal estate
  • Property (such as Mickey Mouse or Microsoft Word)

Note: at this time, users are allowed to create Directory space articles about entities which they do not own or have a legal interest in. However, keep in mind that you may not use Centiare to libel others; and, if and when the rightful owner of an article topic appears, they can and will "claim" the space, which will be transferred immediately by a Centiare sysop.

Main space pages should include everything else that doesn't have standing in a court of law. This would include things and processes like:

Add a Directory Listing

Personal

If you wish to create a personal Directory listing using your true name, simply click your cursor so that it follows the "Directory:" text below, then type your name as you want it to appear in Centiare, then click Go! The screen will be pre-populated with text and Infobox information derived from one of Centiare's first users, Directory:Gregory J. Kohs. All you need to do is save the form (feel free to preview first), then go back and replace and edit the respective information so that it describes you, and not Mr. Kohs:

Business

If you wish to create a business Directory listing for a commercial enterprise, simply click your cursor so that it follows the "Directory:" text below, then type the most commonly used form of the business name, then click Go! The screen will be pre-populated with text and Infobox information derived from Directory:Centiare. All you need to do is save the form (feel free to preview first), then go back and replace and edit the respective information so that it describes your business, and not Centiare:

Non-Profit

If you wish to create a non-profit Directory listing for a non-profit organization (NPO), simply click your cursor so that it follows the "Directory:" text below, then type the NPO name, then click Go! The screen will be pre-populated with text and Infobox information derived from Directory:Church of the Loving Shepherd. All you need to do is save the form (feel free to preview first), then go back and replace and edit the respective information so that it describes your non-profit organization, and not the Church of the Loving Shepherd:

Add a Main Space Article

If you wish to create a Main Space article (remember, they must conform to NPOV), simply click your cursor so that it appears in the text box below, then type the name of the article you want it to appear in Centiare, then click Go! The screen will be pre-populated with text and Infobox information derived from Heating_oil. All you need to do is save the form (feel free to preview first), then go back and replace and edit the respective information so that it describes the new article information, and not Heating oil:
