Robotic Machine Tending Automation Systems

Robotic machine tending has improved manufacturing efficiency for thousands of manufacturers & is one of the largest applications for robotics. Rimrock uses proprietary products, vision systems, gantries, and robotics to provide automated machine tending solutions. Robotic machine loading robots exceed the human limitations of speed, reliability, & strength. For those reasons robotic tending is primarily employed to improve workplace safety, ergonomics, & throughput capability. By design, robotic machine tending applications are part to tool based.

Robotic tending applications are performed by a variety of industrial robots including 6 axis articulated arms, scara robots, cartesian coordinate robots (a.k.a. gantry robots), & parallel robots (a.k.a. delta or “picker” robots). Rimrock focuses on the robotic integration of 6 axis articulated arm & cartesian gantry robot solutions. Typical end of arm tooling mechanisms include vacuum cups or pneumatic grippers, and is largely dependent on part size, weight, & surface conditions.
