(NewsUSA) - Golfers who live vicariously through the PGA Tour - those who sit at home watching and wondering how the pros can stand over a 4-foot putt with thousands of dollars on the line - are now able to pick up their clubs and live the dream themselves. And if they bring a buddy, there are even more cash incentives as well.

That's because if you're a golfer of any skill level, you can sign up to play the 2007 season of the American Challenge Golf Tour, which conducts regularly scheduled events with first-place prizes ranging from $1,000 to $15,000 per event. The tour provides any avid golfer the opportunity to compete for cash or prizes in a professional-style tournament at premier area courses.

ACGT also offers a unique referral bonus program that pays players who refer a friend. Members can receive an immediate cash bonus or have that amount applied to a future entry fee. Members also receive cash bonuses matching up to 10 percent of the place money winnings secured by the referred member.

Annual membership dues are only $150 for 12 consecutive months of play. Emphasis is placed on individual stroke play tournaments, in both Gross (Scratch) and Handicap (Net) Division competitions. In addition, 2007 will launch a new Senior Tour program. The ACGT Senior Tour features 11 events for senior players age 47 and up, climaxing with a Senior Tour championship in the fall. Special provisions are made for "Super" seniors who are age 55 and older.

The tour uses TourneyCap, a customized handicap software that eliminates sandbagging. The TourneyCap system uses a tournament-based format to accurately reflect the current potential of players based on their most recent tournament scores.

The tour is expanding into new markets for the 2007 season, so even more golfers around the country can compete. Marketing licenses are available for parties interested in forming a tour in their area. Beginning at the famed La Cantera Resort Course in San Antonio, home of the PGA Valera Texas Open, the 2007 schedule includes more than 150 events, including 20 in the newly launched Atlanta region and 17 in the Chicago/Northern Illinois region.

More information about the American Challenge Golf Tour is available at www.acgtour.com or by calling 817-232-1773. Complete schedule information can be found under the "Event Info" link on the Web site.
