Portland is the largest city in the state of Oregon, and county seat of Multnomah County. (Small portions of Portland bleed into Washington and Clackamas Counties.) Portland straddles the Willamette River immediately south of its confluence with the Columbia River. Portland is the second largest city in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. Only Seattle is larger.
