There are really two histories to SOG Knives. The first history stems from a convert operations task force called the ''Studies and Observations Group'', which needed new tactical equipment to handle stealth missions in the harsh east Asian landscape. Among many specialized tools, the group invented a new tactical knife to meet the qualifications of jungle warfare.
