They provide a couple of key advantages, one of which is that Google prioritizes the [[RDF]]'s in their search results (we surmise they're preparing for the semantic web). The other is that they provide excellent document roll-up & organizational capabilities. (That is, they enable subjects/categories structured in a traditional flat wiki to emulate a hierarchical organization.)
