== History ==
The Cliffside legacy began in April 1987 as the dream of its founder, Walter Zaleskie. Having been previously involved in the kitchen and bath industry for over 14 years, Walter had the dream to start his own company. He carved his niche in the area of decorative hardware.
Cliffside truly began with one man, one idea and one knob. Walter ran his office out of the basement of his home and rented warehouse space from any company that had space to spare. Walter traveled to the Far East and Europe in search of quality crafted hardware at competitive prices. His first hardware board was both limited and modest. He took it with him everywhere he went as he drove up and down the East Coast and across the Midwest, visiting cabinetmakers and dealers far and wide. Bit by bit, Walter saw his company grow and with that, he remained dedicated to growing his line of hardware. What began with one knob has grown to over 1,000 items. What started with one man has grown into a team of hardworking, dedicated professionals. What began in the basement of a home is now a warehouse and office complex located in the heart of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
