| + | = History = |
| + | Since 1994, the group has existed as a result of a 50/50 merger from two large travel agency ventures with the Carlson side originating from the Ask Mr. Foster Travel Agency chain, which had been rebranded a decade earlier. The Wagonlit component of the name originated from the travel shop business of Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits. Accor maintained its share of the interest until 2006 where they sold their shares in a transaction worth €500,000. The company is jointly owned by Carlson, a privately held corporation in the marketing, hotel, restaurant and travel industries, as well as One Equity Partners, a private equity affiliate of JPMorgan Chase. |
