Marion Cotillard won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA Award and a César Award for her performance as Édith Piaf in the 2007 film "La Via en Rose." The daughter of an award-winning director and an actress, Cotillard was raised outside Paris and appeared in her father Claude's plays when she was a child. She began her film career with small roles in French movies; in 2002 she was nominated for the César Award for Most Promising Actress. She took on more starring roles in the 2000s, catching the attention of American audiences with her 2003 role in Tim Burton's "Big Fish," which also featured Ewan McGregor, Jessica Lange, Billy Crudup and Albert Finney. She also starred opposite Russell Crowe in Ridley Scott's "A Good Year" (2005). Other films include "Nine" (2009), "Inception" (2010), "Midnight in Paris" (2011) and Steven Soderbergh's action thriller "Contagion" (2011).
