Freebiejeebies is a referral marketing company that rewards customers with products if they complete an offer from an independent company and then refer friends to do the same.

Competitors

It is similarTemplate:Fact to companies such as Gratis Internet (aka. Freepay) which is is one of the largest 'freebie' websites and was established in 2001.[1] Freebiejeebies was estabilished later, in 2007, initally targeting only UK consumers but later, in 2008, expanding to accept users from the USA and Canada.

Business Model

Freebiejeebies requires that all users complete one offer before they can receive their chosen item. They have a large number of partner companies who provide the offers. Example offers include depositing (and spending) £10 with an online gambling website. When a user completes an offer with one of these companies Freebiejeebies are paid for this and combined with the user's referrals, this money is used to fund the user's "free" gift.

Reviews

The Freebiejeebies website was recently reviewed in T3 Magazine as part of their 'Gadget Blagger's Bible'.[2]

Controversy

Websites of this kind have generated controversy, being cited as Pyramid Schemes on the belief that the business model is unsustainable.[3] However, numerous companies other than Freebiejeebies have been successful with this business model.[4][5] The total value of goods claimed to have been received by members of one online forum has exceeded £200,000 from referral marketing companies, including Freebiejeebies.[6]
