Aquitaine is one of the twenty-six regions of France. The regional capital is Bordeaux and a population of 3,099,000. The region is located in south-western part of metropolitan France, along the Atlantic Ocean and the Pyrenees mountain range on the border with Spainand is rich with history dating back to roman times.
