BlogaPro was conceived in May of 2008 by Gavin Smith as an alternative business opportunity. Prior, Smith was the man behind PlayerBites.com, a site which provided the latest news and tips on MP3 players. After gaining inspiration from the likes of Darren Rowse, Smith soon realized that he could leverage blogs to earn money.

Utilizing his past experiences, he "decided to create BlogaPro.com as a means of sharing my knowledge behind professional blogging."

During its first few months, BlogaPro saw dramatic growth. At six weeks, Smith reached a milestone of 100 RSS subscribers. In addition, BlogaPro was awarded a Google PageRank of 3 out of 10 after only 5 months.

BlogaPro has an 'open' wiki listing all the sites which teach individuals how to earn money blogging. The wiki is meant as a resource to new and experienced bloggers alike. Bloggers are encouraged to submit their blogs for entry free-of-charge ensuring they abide by the guidelines as has been outlined.
