UltraVision CLPL is a contact lens manufacturer, with headquarters based in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, England. UltraVision CLPL also has a Research and Development office based in Cambridge, England. This R&D is concentrated on the bespoke design of corrective contact lenses including freeform surface modelling, toric lens design, Wavefront Technology and contact lenses for patients of Keratoconus and corneal trauma.

Contact Lens Precision Laboratories (CLPL), was founded in Cambridge, England in 1967. The group as it is now known was formed when CLPL purchased UltraVision in July 2003 to form the UltraVision CLPL group.

UltraVision CLPL specialise in developing new and leading edge technology to produce a wide range of soft disposable, durable and RGP contact lenses using both cast-moulded and the latest in lathe cutting systems.



History

Contact Lens Precision Laboratories (CLPL), was founded in Cambridge, England in 1967.
The group as it is now known was formed when CLPL purchased UltraVision in July 2003 to form the UltraVision CLPL group.

The group is now one of the largest independent manufacturers and suppliers of contact lenses in Europe[1]

In 2006, the company received the Queen's Award for Enterprise: Innovation, for developing advanced contact lenses that give clearer vision and healthier eyes. The firm's patented SAM and UltraWave technologies have improved the lens surfaces using a combination of advanced mathematical techniques to provide levels of vision not experienced before
