Unlike traditional trading software, the gnuTrade platform is completely online, so no downloads, special installations or updates are required in order to start trading. This means that users can trade from virtually any computer (Mac or PC) with an internet connection. They are not 'tied' to a particular computer at home or at work to carry out trading activities, giving added flexibility to the user. All major browsers (e.g. Safari, FireFox, Internet Explorer) are supported.

The notion of trading from anywhere is further supported by the availabiity of gnuTrade trading widgets. It's latest widget, 'World Markets' can be embedded on any website or blog and allows users to trade without having to visit the main gnuTrade website.
The widget enables access to the same trading platform as from the gnuTrade site, and all its functions. Again, there is no need for people to sign-up in order to embed the widget or to use it to trade as a guest user with play money. Those who choose not to use the gnuTrade platform for trading can still benefit from the presence of the trading widget on their site, as it gives free access to live market price data.
