Hugh Jackman studied at the Actors' Centre in his hometown of Sydney, Australia and the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in Perth. After graduation he was cast in "Correlli," an ABC drama series. He went on to a number of stage roles in Australia, then received international acclaim for his star turn in a production of "Oklahoma!" in London's West End. Most Americans met Jackman in 2000, when he played Wolverine in the blockbuster movie "X-Men." He reprised the role in "X2: X-Men United" (2003), "X-Men: The Last Stand" (2006), "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" (2009) and "X-Men: First Class" (2011). His other film credits include "Kate & Leopold" (2001), "Van Helsing" (2004), "The Prestige" (2006), "Australia" (2008) and "Reel Steel" (2011), and in 2008 he was named People Magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive." Jackman has also continued his stage career, winning a Tony Award and Drama Desk Award in 2004 for his role in the Broadway production of "The Boy from Oz." With his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, and assistant John Palermo, Jackman leads a Sydney-based film production company called Seed. He and Furness have two children.
