“Lowe Worldwide” is an international creative advertising agency headquartered in London. The Agency is a unit of the Interpublic Group, one of the world's largest advertising agency holding companies. The Interpublic Group is one of the big four agency holdings conglomerates, including Publicis, WPP, and Omnicom.

History

Lowe has an interesting and complex history tracing back to the foundation of Lintas in 1899. Lintas (Lever International Advertising) was one of the worlds first advertising agencies and following some large mergers and rapid growth in the 70’s and 80’s became a dominant and famous force in the advertising field with accounts such as IBM, Mastercard, Johnson and Johnson and of course Unilever . In 1981 Sir Frank Lowe set up Lowe Howard Spink developing world famous campaigns for Absolut, Birds Eye, and Heineken while growing rapidly. Following mergers with the then Amarati Puris Lintas , Lowe Worldwide became the fourth largest Advertising Agency in the world in 2000.

New Era

As the needs of clients changed Lowe has been one of the first to adapt to a new era in Marketing communications. The turn of the century saw a change of strategy leading to a more nimble, ideas centric network that could focus not on providing coverage but providing ideas that were big enough to work across country boundaries and media alike. Some famous platforms developed by Lowe include “ The world’s local bank” for HSBC, “ Every little helps” for Tesco, “ The Axe Effect” for Axe ( Lynx in the UK) and “Dirt is good” for Omo / Persil and of course “ Just for the taste of it” Diet Coke. Lowe now bills itself not an advertising agency network but a High Value Ideas company, and with its 80 offices around the world and with a digital community called Lo/We, it now serves a variety of multinational and local accounts on projects as diverse as facebook applications, touring exhibitions, PR stunts ,podcasts, and websites as well as the more traditional 60’’ TV spot and print ads.

Lowe now serves four of the world’s largest Global advertisers, Unilever, Johnson and Johnson, Nestle and General Motors while consistently producing award winning creative work across the globe.

Awards

In 2007 Lowe were the 10th most awarded agency in the Gunn Report having taken home the Integrated Grand Prix and Gold Lions at the prestigious Cannes Lions, along with golds at the One Show, Clio and Eurobest awards. Lowe's Digital teams continue to develop award winning work, recently picking up 8 Golds at the New York Innovative advertising festival for its work on Artois.
