Western Refining , Inc. NYSE: WNR is an independent crude oil refiner and marketer of refined products based in El Paso, Texas and operates primarily in the Southwest region of the United States, including Arizona, New Mexico and West Texas. Products produced at its refinery consist of light transportation fuels, including gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. The company was incorporated in 1993. Western Refining's refinery also has approximately 4.3 million barrels of storage capacity. Western Refining became a publicly traded company in January 2006. Western Refining Inc. acquired Giant Industries Inc. in August 2006.

History

The South Refinery began operations in 1931 as a topping refinery and was modernized and converted in 1954. The North Refinery began operations in 1928 as a topping refinery.
