Dacey Vincent Gerrard Balle (born 30 October 1970) is a Chartered Accountant by profession, and currently is the managing director of one of New Zealand leading vegetable exporter and grower - Balle Bros Fresh Produce Group.

Personal Bio

Dacey Balle was born in New Zealand and grew up in Pukekohe, Franklin-Auckland, New Zealand. He attended Pukekohe High School in 1984 with university bursaries in Accounting, Mathematics and Statistics, Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus. He then pursued Bachelor's degree with the University of Auckland - Majoring in Finance and Accountancy in 1989. He culminated this with his degree in Chartered Accountancy in 1994. Dacey is family oriented, married and is a father to three children. His sports include short distance jogging and cycling.

Dacey Balle's one satisfaction in life was that he became involved in the family farming business and has been tremendously rewarding after gaining external experience and training.

Professional Bio

After gaining his chartered accountancy degree in 1994, Dacey Balle joined the Air New Zealand office - first, as an internal auditor, then as a corporate accountant. These roles allowed him to widen his horizon with his career in business management, exposing him to the dynamics of large organisation with international dealings. By 1996, he joined Balle Bros Fresh Produce Group as Finance Manager, and progressed to Commercial Manager, and then to his current position with Balle Bros Fresh Produce Group as Managing Director of the company.

One of his kick-off projects when he started with Balle Bros Group was the implementation of a financial reporting system, this helped systemised the financial workflow of the company. After this, Dacey developed and strategized the company's business relationship to both local and overseas market. One can say that his experience with international trade has helped him a lot in steering the company to its correct course over a three year period.

Dacey Balle's achievement is anchored firmly on his desire of leveraging New Zealand’s core competencies in primary production (agriculture, farming, and dairy) into competitive advantage in both domestic and international markets.

Dacey Balle is also currently director of Open Country Dairy Limited and Simplot Mr. Chips Limited.
