This template can be used in table cells to be filled starting in their upper left corner. Most browsers use defaults valign="center" align="left" for normal data cells (XHTML <td>, Wiki | vertical bar), or bold valign="center" align="center" for header cells (XHTML <th>, Wiki ! exclamation mark).

{{vat}} overwrites these defaults with valign="top" align="left". Unlike inline CSS this is visible with any browser (valid XHTML transitional). Template:Vat (edit talk links history) can be substituted.
