According to her own websites, "Jane Burgermeister was born in Switzerland of an Irish mother and an Austrian father, and lives in Vienna, Austria. She received an MA Honours degree from [[University of Edinburgh|Edinburgh University]], Scotland, and has written for ''[[Nature (journal)|Nature]]'', the ''[[BMJ|British Medical Journal]]'', ''[[The Scientist]]'', ''[[Reuters|Reuters Health]]'', and ''[[The Guardian]]'' among other publications. Burgermeister appeared for the first time on camera when she was interviewed in [[Vienna]] by Project Camelot on the 8th of September, 2009.
