Founded in 1799, Aurora was originally settled by Revolutionary War veterans during the land grant period resulting from the Northwest Territory Ordinance of 1787. the town was once considered the cheese-making capital of the United States. Boasting a diverse economy and a growing cultural community, Aurora maintains its Western Reserve heritage.
