Industrial Quick Search, Inc.® is collection of vertical directories listing products and services representing a diverse resource for North American industrial, commercial and original equipment manufacturers and service providers. Using a patented methodology (Patent #7,483,872), both Industrial Quick Search® and the IQS Directory® provide roll-over preview ads which allow buyers to quickly and efficiently evaluate potential vendors and compare multiple suppliers in detail. Premium listings on IQS® supply buyers with the information to send a request for quote, call and link to the company’s website as well as view CAD drawings, PDF’s, catalogs, videos, e-commerce, press releases, equipment, capabilities, certifications, sales representatives, press releases and distributor locations.

IQS® uses Google search technology including Google’s search appliance which provides fast, relevant searches of the many categories and companies listed on the site.

Industrial Quick Search® recently added company product categories and launched several upgrades such as radial search using Google map technology as well as implementing the IQS® Newsroom to improve online visibility for both clients and consumers.

History

IQS® was founded in 2000. The company quickly rose to become a primary competitor in the online directory industry, outperforming larger service providers[1] such as ThomasNet and GlobalSpec. IQS® originally used its individual domain sites to gain visibility on search engines[2] such as Google, which could only search static HTML pages; in 2004, when Google’s search capacities increased to include dynamically driven pages, the IQS® Directory and its sub pages were introduced to enhance online visibility. In 2011, the company continues to add new facet pages, upgrading and expanding content while verifying the companies and clients for improved usability.

Products and Recent Service Additions

As a part of recent site renovations, IQS® launched the IQS® Newsroom in January 2009 as an additional resource to its users and advertisers[3], offering industrial press releases, white papers, product articles and web marketing blogs. Companies advertising with IQS® may publish press releases and industry white papers through the IQS® Newsroom. In 2010, the IQS® editorial team began working with these companies to write company profiles to be featured in IQS® Newsroom, providing still further benefits and improved exposure.

A patent [4] was awarded for Industrial Quick Search's vertical search methodology and other listing features. Features specified in the patent include a four line company description, graphic rollover “preview” ads, contact information and company website hyperlinks for each page one company listing. Also included in the patent is IQS®’ “Request for Quote” submission form, which allows users to request price quotes from selected businesses or from all companies listed under a product category simultaneously.
