Some terms are derived from stereotypes, including terms alluding to pederasty. Many terms are derived from gay, the common word in English used to refer to homosexual men and women (homosexual women are also called lesbians).
Pejorative terms are also listed, which may derive from insults, homophobia, stereotypes, or religious stories such as Sodom and Gomorrah.
