Govert Westerveld (born May 23, 1947) is a Dutch writer, hispanist, independent researcher, chess and draughts historian based in Murcia, Spain.[1][2][3] He is also an official chronicler of Blanca, Murcia and a corresponding member of Real Academia Alfonso X el Sabio.[4][5] He has published over 75 books on history of chess, draughts and Spanish history.[6]
