According to some sources todays Žuvelas "''is the second most common surname in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County of Croatia'' ". Currently my thoughts on the actual word Xuvella as a surname was reinterpret with the Zuvelas arrival on the island in the early 1600s, which also signalled a new fresh start for the family.
