History
Channing Transportation Company was started in 2002 in the city of Port Saint Lucie, FL by James Scott Cross. The company is named after the founders brother Channing Middleton Cross who suffered a tragic death a few months before the business incorperated. Leasing on to Landstar Ranger in the early years of the company gave Channing Transportation a solid foundation to build on. The business went on to get its own commercial operating authority and began to specialize in blanket wrap freight. Self service moving, copier transportation, trade show moves, museum exhibits and other highly sensitive loads became the core of their operating success. Today Channing Transportation is a leader in pad wrap services combining highly motivated drivers with a family atmosphere to give its customers the service they require.
