| Dan was introduced to the sport of DTL shooting in England at the Dolphin Inn in Longton, at the age of 6. His dad bought him a Belgian .410 bore shotgun, he used this up to the age of 9. His next gun was a 20 Gauge shotgun, this improved the pattern of his shot and was easier for him to use, as he was older and more capable of handling a larger gun. At the age of 12, he and his family emigrated to Canada. Dan and Ian joined Peterborough Skeet and Trap Club. Ian bought him a Stoeger 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun. He continued to use this until he was 15 years old. At the age of 15, his dad bought him another gun, an over and under break-action Winchester shotgun. | | Dan was introduced to the sport of DTL shooting in England at the Dolphin Inn in Longton, at the age of 6.
