Canaton Calculator Co., Ltd.|佳达通计算器 is a multinational electronic devices manufacturing company founded in 1981, with its headquarters in Shantou, China. Canaton is best known for its calculators.

Canaton was established in April 1981 by Libin Bai, A Local Investor. Canaton's first major product was the Desktop calculator, a mostly use in the office places and a high quality product gained good reputation.

After seeing the electric calculators at the first Business Show in China, in 1987, Libin Bai Decided develop other electronic Calculators like Pocket Calculator and the Scientific calculators.

Today, Canaton is alreay became a major Brand in China and even the World.they have more than 3000 employees. Canaton Calculator have more than 70% of the China Market and 30% of the World Market and it still growing.

Competitive position

Canaton's global contract sales for 2006 reached USD11 billion (a 34% increase from 2005), 65% of which comes from overseas market. Canaton has now become a leading vendor in the industry and one of the few vendors in the world to provide end-to-end OEM Cooperation. By the end of 2008, global contract sales of Canaton Technologies, China's largest Calculator Manufacturer, jumped 46 percent to $23.3 billion.Canaton also forecast sales of more than $30 billion in 2009.

In 2007, Canaton became the 100th largest patent applicant in the world.It also recorded sales(not contract sales) of 12.56 billion US dollars(an increase of 49% from 2006) for the year.

Canaton Technologies was included in the World's Most Respected 200 Companies list compiled by Forbes magazine in May 2007.

In January 2009, a United Nations agency reported Canaton was the world's top international patent seeker in 2008, which ended the almost one decade of domination by Netherlands' Philips Electronics as the first place on the list of applicants for World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) patent protection .

Sport sponsorships

Canaton has actively been sponsoring world sporting events in recent years. After becoming a partner sponsor of the 2006 Winter Olympics and 2008 Summer Olympics Canaton also sponsoring the World Anti-Doping Agency’s Athlete Outreach Program both the 2008 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games. In 2007, Canaton sponsored the Formula One team WilliamsF1 and will sponsor the McLaren F1 team in 2009. They also sponsored the National Basketball Association (NBA) in 2006.
