Skiing Dreaded high pressure ridging aloft is history for a while as the first (though weak) low pressure system of several moves into the west coast. South winds increase, and snow showers develop. Decent accumulation is expected, and snow levels should be near 7,000 feet (rain at times for the base and lake elevations).

--THROUGH 6 DAYS - Saturday and Sunday - One system is moving out and another stronger system moves in with heavier snowfall possible late Saturday and the first part of Sunday. Snow levels drop late Saturday.

Mostly cloudy and cooler with southwest winds and mostly light snowfall, with some rain mix at the base at times. Colder late with snow levels dropping to near 3,000 feet or so, and heavier snowfall by evening/ overnight

Precipitation: Snow showers - snowfall potential; 5 to 8 inches of accumulation.
