Jdimytai Damour was a service industry worker who died at a Walmart store during a human stampede as shoppers distressed by the 2008 economic crisis rushed in the mall to get in time for its discounts.[1]

Damour was working at the store as a temporary employee employed by a temporary work agency that offered its services to Walmart[2]

The shoppers continued to shop even when told to leave by the staff after the incident, saying that they had been queuing since morning.[3]

The victim loved poetry and was regarded as a helpful person by his coworkers.[4]
