Bozeman, Montana is the county seat of Gallatin County. It is known as the gateway to [Yellowstone National Park]. It has a current population(2016) approaching 50,000 and is ranked the third fastest growing small town in the US by Forbes.com. Bozeman is home to Montana State University with a student population of close to 16,000 undergraduate students. Bozeman was named after John Bozeman who established the Bozeman Trail. It was established in 1864. It is located @ 70 miles north of the NW entrance of Yellowstone National Park and NW of the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park in Gardiner, Montana.

There are six rivers in close proximity to Bozeman. The Gallatin, Madison, Yellowstone, Jefferson, Missouri, and East Gallatin are within an hours drive from Bozeman. These rivers are all considered blue ribbon trout streams and supply year round recreational activities.
