He has also appeared on several international news networks, including CNN, the BBC and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and has been a freelance correspondent for CBS News. A resident of Toronto, Bahadur began traveling to Puntland, an autonomous region of Somalia, in 2008. Bahadur's pursuit of the story of Somalia's pirates subsequently brought him to London, Romania and Kenya. His research led to his first book, "The Pirates of Somalia: Inside Their Hidden World," which was published in 2011.
