 === Air Force Armament Museum ===
 miles north of US 98 on SR 85, just outside Eglin Air Force Base's west gate. The museum exhibits nearly 30 restored aircraft including B-52 and B-17 bombers, a SR-71 Blackbird spy plane, an F-16 jet fighter and a Soviet MiG. The armament collection features missiles, bombs and rockets. Noteworthy among an extensive collection of antique pistols are flintlock dueling pistols and Western six-shooters. A videotape depicts the history and development of Eglin Air Force Base. Open daily 9:30-4:30, closed federal holidays. Free Phone 850.882.4062.

 mile east on US 98, presents the Living Sea, where sharks moray eels and sea turtles can be seen in their natural habitat through a glass-enclosed tank. Penguins, otters and alligators are featured in separate exhibits. Live shows present the antics of dolphins and sea lions. Open daily 9-dusk; closed Thanksgiving and December 25. Shows are given at 10, noon, 2 and 4 (also at 6, May 15 through September 15). Phone 850.244.6169.

 Miracle Strip Pkwy, depicts 10,000 years of Indian occupation of the northwest Florida coast as well as the history of European exploration and settlement in the area. The museum houses one of the largest collections of Woodland pottery in the Southeast. The temple mound, next to the museum, is topped by a replica temple. The mound was constructed around 1400 A.D.  Allow 30 minutes minimum. Open Monday through Saturday 9-4:30, Sunday 12:30-4:30, June through August; Monday through Friday 11-4, Saturday 9-4, rest of the year. Phone 850.833.9595.
