Silvia Fitzpatrick is a [http://www.rockclimbingcompany.co.uk/About.html Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor] who has been climbing all over the world at a high level for more than 22 years.

Silvia also runs the Rock Climbing Company which runs [http://www.rockclimbingcompany.co.uk/Learn_to_Climb_Snowdonia_North_Wales.html climbing and scrambling courses] in North Wales and Spain

Silvia is one of the relatively few female climbing instructors to hold the Mountain Instructor Award (Award Number 1369) from the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI) and is a full member of both the Association of Mountaineering Instructors and the Mountain Leader Training Association; these are the representative bodies for professionally qualified mountaineering instructors in the British Isles. They are committed to promoting good practice in all mountaineering instruction.

Silvia is also qualified as a Physical Education and Modern Language Teacher and is fluent in Spanish, French and Italian.

Silvia has an impressive climbing CV that includes:

• Several successful summits in Patagonia including the first female ascent of the amazing Cerro Fitz Roy. Many alpine classics such as the Bonatti Pillar (before it fell down!), the Walker Spur and the North Face of the Eiger. Silvia also made an early repeat of 'The Fish' in the Dolomites.

• In the UK her trad achievements include many classic E5s such as Right Wall, Positron and Hunger in North Wales; Black Magic and Darkinbad in North Devon; A Grey English Morning and Headhunter in Pembroke. In 2006 she pulled off her hardest leads on natural gear by doing Mammoth Direct (E5/6) and Alien (E6) on the Main Cliff of Gogarth.

• Silvia was the British Female Indoor Climbing Champion in 1994 and a member of the British Competition Climbing Team from 1993 to 1995.

• In sport climbing, she has climbed over forty routes graded 8a and above in locations throughout Europe, UK, Asia and Australia. She has recently red pointed her hardest sport route: El Oraculo (8b) in El Chorro, Spain. The Rock Climbing Company specialises in creating bespoke [http://www.rockclimbingcompany.co.uk rock climbing courses and scrambling courses] that combine a low instructor ratio with completely customised climbing instruction. Our rock climbing and scrambling courses can be based in either Snowdonia in North Wales or Andalucia in Southern Spain.

Our courses cover all the mountain skills needed for rock climbing, scrambling and navigation and we can deliver this instruction at all levels of ability and experience from absolute beginner upwards.

We run our courses here because it is a brilliant mountain area with a variety of climbing that is unrivalled in Britain - there are long, classic mountain routes in the Llanberis Pass and Ogwen Valley, adventurous sea cliffs at Gogarth and roadside cragging at Tremadog. The varied nature of climbing lets you learn a comprehensive range of techniques that will form a solid base of skills to build on.
