Emory University is located just 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta, Georgia in the tree-lined suburban neighborhood of Druid Hills. Emory University's campus anchors the southern end of the "Clifton Corridor", which also includes the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Emory was founded at Oxford by the Methodist Church in 1836. Led by President James W. Wagner, the University has 12,000 students and more than 3,000 faculty members who represent all regions of the United States and dozens of other countries.
